Inspirational Chris Owen is the man who cooked
for 300 people each and every night at the Kinglake West Relief
Centre (known as 1050) and he did this when it was most needed in
the months following the Black Saturday bush fires. His nutritional
food brought people together every night allowing them to meet new
friends, to share their stories and to provide hope to each
other.
He has been so touched by what he saw in the
months he spent volunteering (and temporarily living in the
Kinglake Ranges) that he is determined to keep helping the
community move forward.
You see Chris has written this cookbook because
so many who ate his food every night would ask for his recipes and
he always generously handed them out as requested. Out of those
wonderful experiences he has put together a collection of some of
what he cooked and was appriciated and devoured by those hungry
hundreds.
